This week, we will assess potential solutions to rising global energy demand, in light of the looming climate crisis. Questions to be addressed include:
- How tightly is energy demand correlated with economic growth? This is critically important because we want much more rapid economic growth in China, India, Sub-Saharan and in so many parts of the developing world. But assuming that we have policies in place to make such growth more sustaianble -- a stretch, I realize, in many places -- this still implies an unprecedented increase of world energy demand.
